Given the fact that my romance suspense books are part of The Vineyard Collection, it likely comes as no surprise that I am a big fan of wine. Red wines are my absolute favorite, but I’ll enjoy a nice white wine from time to time, too. As we head into fall, what better way to start the season than to cozy up with a book with a nice glass of wine!
If you are looking to expand your palate, check out some of my top picks:
Josh Cellars’ Pinot Noir
This pinot noir by Josh Cellars is my favorite go-to wine. It’s the perfect blend ⎯ not too fruity, not too woody. It’s fruity flavor comes from rich cherries and strawberries, and there is a slight hint of oak. Overall, it’s a delicious, elegant wine! I love pairing Josh Pinot Noir with a nice charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
90+ Cellars’ Cabernet Sauvignon
The cabernet from Argentina is perfect with a steak dinner and hearty vegetables! It is a less sweet, full-bodied wine. As described by 90+ Cellars, it's a ‘melody of black currants and red cherries that rise above a backdrop of leather and toast...a juicy, dark berry fruit along with sweet spice and savory plums.
Spade and Sparrow Rosé
This wine will have your palate screaming with notes of strawberries and florals, it is a little slice of heaven after a long day! For maximum enjoyment, chill before enjoying this delicious wine! Vinoshipper describes this Rosé as self love.
Redwood Creek Pinot Grigio
Although I prefer red wines, I highly recommend the pinot grigio from Redwood Creek if you are more into white wines. Produced in California, it’s got a refreshing and crisp taste of apple, pear, and citrus. It goes great with seafood or grilled chicken, light pasta dishes, and cheese. Does anything not go well with cheese?!
Oliver Sweet Red
If you aren’t well-versed on the various styles and tempos of wine, Sweet Red from Oliver Winery & Vineyards’ Soft Wine Collection is a wonderful place to start. It’s one of the Top 20 selling red wines in the United States! Made in Indiana, its classic Concord grape flavor is just sweet enough, without being overdone. Perfect for football season...this wine pairs well with burgers, pizza, and even chocolate!
Avaline White Blend
This is an amazing vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free wine. It is a dry white wine with a nice crisp finish. Avaline wine leaves notes of citrus and delectable core fruits on your palate. This wine pairs well with light appetizers, my favorite is cheese, grapes, and nuts combo to really finish off this enjoyable experience in a glass.
Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon
Another favorite coming out of California, Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, savory, and totally delectable. It’s a smooth mixture of red cherry, hints of spice and smoke with a long toasty finish. It smells like cedar and blackberry and is everything I envision a cozy fall day to be.
Stella Rosa Black
Maybe you aren’t looking to pair your wine with anything, and simply want to indulge. If so, Stella Rosa Black is the way to go. A delicious blend of blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry, this dessert wine is semi-sweet, semi-sparkling, and super yum! Stella Rosa makes several other uniquely styled dessert wines, too, including flavors like pineapple, mango, and green apple.
